Not only does Cakes by Stephanie make cakes for that special occasion various pastries are available.  Rather than doing a large wedding cake for your special day why not do a smaller cake and have a pastry table.

Greek Pastries

Yourtini (Yogurt Torte)      (medium .50)
Made with yogurt, butter and eggs and a little ouzo.  A honey/sugar cinnamon syrup is poured over the cake.  Each piece is individually decorated with a small rose bud in the color of your choice and placed in a tissue bakery cup for individual serving.

Galatobourio (Custard Torte)       (medium .50)
Made with semolina, eggs, butter and homogenized milk.  Ingredients are brought to a boil and poured into a pan lined with filo dough.  Several layers of filo dough are placed on top of the tickened mixture.  It is then baked for several minutes.  Again a honey/sugar cinnamon syrup is poured over the torte.  This torte is best if served cold.  It is decorated with a cherry and green frosting leaves.  It is placed in a small bakery cup for individual serving.

Melachrino (Pecan Cake)       (medium .50)
Made with butter, eggs, flour and pecans.  A dash of whiskey is added for a unique flavor.  Again the ever popular honey/sugar cinnamon syrup is poured over the cake after it is removed from the oven.  It is allowed to cool and cut into diamond shapes and decorated with an edible rose bud and frosting leaves.

Kourmabiethes (Butter fingers or Wedding cookies)  (.40 each)
This cookie will melt in your mouth.  Made with clarified butter, eggs and flour and baked for a few minutes.  After they are allowed to cool white powdered sugar is sprinkled over them.  This Greek pastry is similar to the Mexican Wedding cookies.

Baklava    (.50 medium)
Made with several layers of filo dough with almonds, walnuts and pecans mixed throughout the layers of the filo dough.  The sugar/honey syrup is poured over the baked baklava and cut in the shape of diamonds and placed in a paper bakery cup.

Kataeefee (.50 medium)
Made with shredded filo dough with almonds, walnuts and pecans mixed together.  The sugar/honey syrup is poured over the kataeefee and allowed to cool then cut and served.

Sweets list

No Bake Cheese cakes (.50 each)
These small individual cheesecakes are made with graham cracker crumbs at the bottom with a no bake cream cheese base and a fruit glaze placed on top.

Available in plain, strawberry, cheery,  raspberry or blueberry on top.

Baked Mini Cheese Cakes (.50 each)
Same as above but only baked with fruit throughout or on top the Cheese Cake.

Available in NY style, Cappuccino, Raspberry, Strawberry or any fruit desired

Brownies (.35 each)    or  (.50 each larger)
Moist cake like brownies make a wonderful addition to any sweets table especially if children are invited as guests.

Carrot Cake  (.50 each medium)
Carrot cake is in a small individual baking cup and decorated with a frosting carrot and green leaves.

Petite Fores (small cakes)  (.75 each)
These small cakes are frosted with buttercream frosting then dipped in a fondant icing (this is a warm liquid coating which is poured over the small cake and allowed to cool) then decorated with a small rose bud.

Miniature Eclairs (.50 each)
This oblong pastry is filled with a custard filling and a chocolate coating is poured over them.

Miniature Cream puffs (.50 each)
These small round cream puffs are filled with real whipped cream and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Sponge Cake Shells or Mini Pie Tarts (1.00 each)
These medium sized sponge cakes are in the shaped of a shell and are filled with heavy whipped cream.  Mixed together is a variety of different fresh fruit such as strawberries, kiwi, blueberries and raspberries.  Not only are they colorful they taste marvelous.

Italian Canolli (2.00 each)
Canolli’s are made with an outer shell filled with ricotta cheese.  They can be filled with chocolate chips or a fruit filling or served with ricotta cheese only.

Strawberries dipped in chocolate  ($8.00/pint) (about 20 strawberries per pint)

Cookies   .35 each
Chocolate chip, peanut butter or sugar cookies
